Program Options

M.Ed. Educational Leadership programs available:
  • PK-12 Principal Certification: For practicing educators with proven experience and is offered as either a Master’s in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) or as certification only.
  • PK-12 Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction Certification: For practicing educators with proven experience and is offered as either a Master's in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) or as Certification only. Prepares graduates to hold an administrative position in all PA public institutions​.

Program Details

  • Incoming Cohorts: The Spring 2026 cohort has reached capacity. The Summer and Fall 2026 applications are available now online.
  • Flexible Start Dates – Applications are accepted for the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.
  • Program Delivery – Delivered 100% online (combination of synchronous and asynchronous classes)​. Classes are typically offered during the evening, from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday through Thursday​.
  • Meaningful Learning Experiences – We strive to constantly integrate present principals and administrators into our program to create meaningful learning experiences for future school leaders.
  • Endorsement – Endorsed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE)​.
  • Mentorship – Students are required to have a seasoned administrator act as their mentor throughout the program.
  • 100% PRAXIS Pass Rate – Graduates have a 100% PRAXIS pass rate on the 1st attempt.
  • Job-Embedded Learning – We pride ourselves on the ability to provide job-embedded learning through various situations and settings.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Use of research including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodologies
  2. Apply professional dispositions, ethics, and professional standards

Educational Leadership – PK-12 Principal (Cert)

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Develop and implement curriculum focused on improving student achievement
  2. Analyze strategic planning and multiple measures of data to develop an action plan to improve student achievement
  3. Design and implement an action research project designed to improve student achievement
  4. Utilize data tools to analyze data and create data summaries

Educational Leadership – PK-12 Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction (Cert)

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Use research including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodologies
  2. Apply data literacy and employment of data analysis to develop supportive, diverse, equitable, and inclusive school environments
  3. Apply professional dispositions, ethics, and professional standards
  4. Lead or participate in a collaborative activity with peers, colleagues, teachers, administrators, community organizations and parents

CU’s M.Ed. Educational Leadership program provided me with a deeper understanding of instructional supervision and curriculum design, which I now use to support and elevate teaching practices district-wide. In my role as Director of Curriculum & Instruction, I apply evidence-based principles daily, collaborating with teachers and administrators to implement strategies that address our students’ diverse needs. The program’s strong emphasis on leadership development has prepared me to confidently strengthen our district’s curriculum and instructional practices, advocate for meaningful change, and lead with a vision that benefits both educators and students.
